🌱 Hope: Spark or Stumbling Block?
We often hold onto hope like it’s a lifeline — and in many ways, it is.
Hope lifts us when things feel heavy 💫. It gives us something to look toward when the present feels uncertain 🌥️. For many, it’s the quiet belief that things can change. In that way, hope is not just useful — it’s necessary. A vital emotional function that helps us endure, imagine, and begin again 💖.
But I’ve also seen — in myself and in others — how hope can become a hiding place 🪞.
A pause ⏸️.
A distraction 🌀.
Even a delay tactic ⏳.
Sometimes we tell ourselves we’re “holding on to hope” when we’re actually avoiding the harder task of taking action 🛑➡️🧭.
So, is hope helpful or harmful?
I’d say it depends on what we do with it.
✨ Hope is the spark. But 🔥 action is the flame.
Hope invites us to dream ☁️.
Action is what transforms that dream into something real 🛠️.
When we combine the two — when we take even the smallest steps in the direction of what we hope for — that’s where change begins 🚶♀️🌿.
So if you're holding onto hope right now, ask yourself:
What’s one small step I can take today? 🪜
What truth am I ready to face? 🧭
Where am I waiting… when I could be moving? 🚀
From the heart,
💚 Colleen
