Reflections from Fieldays: Why Empowered Health Matters
Last week, I had the privilege of standing with Alliance Health Coach at Fieldays in the Health and Wellbeing Hub. We were among remarkable organisations including the Heart Foundation, Breast Cancer Foundation, Neurological Foundation, Health NZ, Mobile Health, Groov, Rural Support Trust, Starship, St John, I Am Hope, NZ Police, Parkinson’s NZ, and many more.
What struck me most wasn’t just the volume of support available—but the need for practical, heart-focused tools that help people understand what’s happening in their body and what to do next.
One woman stood out—anxious about getting her blood pressure checked. She’d been monitoring her heart rate variability (HRV) with her Apple Watch but didn’t know what it meant or how to respond. Together, we paused, breathed, and I showed her the HeartMath app, which helps retrain breathing patterns to restore balance and coherence across the body’s systems—heart, head, and gut.
This is what I do as a Heart-Focused Health Coach—support people through real, practical shifts that create energy, calm, and resilience, no matter what the testing reveals there is always a way forward and we start small and build up to long-lasting strength.
I offer the HeartMath Inner Balance app with a 20% discount for those ready to turn insight into change:
